Cristina has been a Registered Nurse for 20 years, spending most of her time specializing and working in pediatric oncology. She is passionate about supporting families through the challenges of a medical diagnosis and counselling children and families who experience medically acquired trauma. The experience of journeying alongside children and families undergoing medical treatment for pediatric cancer has sparked a desire to learn more about the emotional needs of those experiencing acute and chronic illness. This has been the reason for embarking on a new career in counselling.
Cristina believes individuals have the capacity for resilience and strives to work co-operatively to identify each person’s inner strength. By listening to what matters most to her clients, from a place free of judgement, with empathy and compassion, Cristina endeavors to help each person find solutions in the present and explore their hopes for the future.
Cristina is completing the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program through Yorkville University. She previously attended the University of Western Ontario, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Cristina feels truly blessed to share her life with her three beautiful daughters, her husband, and their sweet but naughty cockapoo puppy. She enjoys biking, baking, reading, and sewing. She loves to travel to sunny destinations and spend time with friends. She is involved in a weekly small group in her church and enjoys serving in the children’s ministry.
