Joshua has an insatiable hunger for reading and learning. He is a musician and had the pleasure of touring around Canada. Joshua served as a worship pastor for several years where he led small groups and worked with individuals, couples, and families. In his (little) free time, Joshua loves to discuss books, music, science, philosophy, psychology, theology, and pretty well anything.
He is blessed to journey with his three wonderful children and his wonderful wife. He loves playing with the kids and going for walks as a family.
Joshua earned his honours undergrad in philosophy from UWaterloo, his masters in theological studies from Grebel, and is currently earning his masters in counselling and psychotherapy from Yorkville. He regularly updates and improves his knowledge of psychotherapy and develops his skills in various therapeutic approaches including (but not limited to) CBT, DBT, Mindfulness-Based, Faith-based, Interpersonal, Psychodynamic, and Somatic, all based on client needs and goals. He is also trained in EMDR.
He loves to listen to people tell their stories and to journey alongside them. He has a collaborative and respect-focused approach that focuses on the strengths and dignity of each person. Joshua utilizes non-judgemental support and practical skills to assist individuals in reaching their goals. He is passionate about walking with and supporting people through suffering and pain.
